How to keep it clean & green
Make sure you follow these steps in order to maximize your bumi toothbrush' life and make the most impact for the world.
CLEANING IT
Bumi Toothbrush Cleaning and Storage
Disinfect
Before using your brand-new toothbrush, we highly recommend to soak it first with hot water for about 5-10 minutes. You can also dip the bristles in your mouthwash and clean thoroughly.
Rinse
Before and after every use, rinse your brush with clean water. Make sure to completely remove the debris and toothpaste suds from the bristles.
Store & Dry
All Bumi toothbrushes are designed to stand uprightly, so you can easily air dry it and store in a clean area. This also prevents it from touching other bristles, avoiding bacterial contamination. Lastly, avoid covering it with plastic containers especially when it is still damp.
Taking care of your Bumi toothbrush is almost the same way you take care of the plastic ones. It requires a more proper care, which is worth-it in the end, caring for your teeth and the environment!
Make sure to replace your bamboo toothbrushes as needed, especially when the bristles have frayed. In order to maintain proper hygiene, we recommend to replace your bamboo toothbrush every 3 to 4 months.

Reuse
There are so many ways to reuse your old bamboo toothbrushes, especially for cleaning and brushing other than your teeth!
1. Use them in the kitchen or bathroom as a mini-scrub or cleaner (just make sure not to leave it in your lavatory after use!)
2. A dust-remover for your keyboard, other electronic devices, or your car interior
3. For cleaning your dirty shoes and other equipment
4. Use it for your arts and crafts
Remove the Bristles
Use a pair of pliers to pluck out the bristles from the toothbrush head. These are very small so make sure to properly dispose them in recyclable bins. This will only account for a very small percentage of non-biodegradable waste compared to an all-plastic toothbrush.
